You know you're a Valley Girl when... (flashback part 1)
The other day, my computer was down for a few hours to do some upgrades and I found myself rather lost! So I figured it was time to start cleaning up my personal employee folder on the network. After a few minutes, I decided that I need to do this more often! Not because there was tons of junk in it, but some of the old documents brought back a flood of fantastic memories!
Doing Whatever it Takes
I just finished reading John Izzo Ph.D.’s new book “Stepping Up; How Taking Personal Responsibility Changes Everything”. WOW!!! Great stuff.
Red Carpet Service
"Rolling out the red carpet is a tradition of honorary treatment given to callers of the highest esteem. In dealing with customers, no mattter how big small, you give the best service, treating each one as royalty. You show people they are truly special and justly deserving of your utmost attention and assistance. It's your wonderful charm and personality that makes you a first-class service star!"
The person next to you … (flashback part 2)
This is a poem I found hidden away in my employee folder. I honestly don’t remember when I received this or even reading it! However I am glad that I was able to “re-discover” it. It is a bit long, but I hope you still enjoy it.
Welcome to Intercon!
Well, it has been a little while since our last blog, but, no news is good news right?!
A Three Year Olds Wisdom
A few days ago my nephew, a wise 3 year old had gone to his school orientation. Jaxen was starting play school for a couple hours a day, two days a week. His report from the orientation was specific, he told me that when he got on the school bus to go to school he was not going to cry. How brave of Jaxen!
Father Time
Father time seems to be a hasty fellow. With the start of school for some, the changing color of leaves and the dropping of thermometers, September brings a transitional time for everyone. For the Intercon Messaging family, we are in the final stage of wedding season.
Thank You Miss Callaway
Posted last week was a fantastic blog by my good friend and co-worker Paige Callaway. In this blog she touched on the importance of flexibility in life, in work and personal aspects.
Life, Intercon Messaging and Yoga!
Being flexible both physically and mentally I believe is very important in life. It is a talent or skill that is an anti-stresser. Being flexible is defined as capable of being bent and/or susceptible of modification or adaption.
The Wall
On an annual basis, the Human Resource staff at Intercon distributes their employee’s a quick and simple assignment that will bring personal reassurance to them all year round. Each employee is given a company employee list and is asked to write 2 or 3 nice things about all of their coworkers.
Small Town Lovin
The Intercon team recently had the great pleasure in taking part of a beautiful tradition. One of our employees tied the knot over the weekend, and it was certainly a company affair!
I AM INTERCON MESSAGING
Recently myself a a few co-workers were fortunate to take a webinar course called “Infinity 101”. It was a great learning experience and we all walked away smart beings. In the webinar were people from the all over the states and as natural as water running down hill, us Canadians (and Canadian transplants) took a few jokes about our dear ‘O Canada’.
Life Lessons
As employees in the emergency response field, we are reminded daily of how fragile life can be. I am grateful for this, as it supports us to live our biggest lives. When your career is constantly reminding you that everyday could be your last or a close friend or relatives last, it only fuels the desire to live your life to the fullest.
Growth & Change
It is an inevitable law of the universe to grow and change. Those two words “pack more punch” then most words in the english dictionary and with good reason. They are full of memories and emotion, times of sun and times of rain (literally) and most of all chances for us to become better.
Thankful for...
Every night when I lay down to sleep I say Thank You. Thank you to each and every member of my dedicated, loyal and do the best they know how staff. I get to go to bed at night because they are working, so I do not have to. For that I will be forever thankful and I remind myself every night that I get to sleep because of their commitment and dedication.
Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning
Intercon Messaging’s highest priority is education. Education is first on our list of values, also included is innovation, fun, flexibility, respect and Integrity.
